Being a great way that links the east and west economy, politics, culture and thoughts, the ancient Silk Road has also been a cultural ribbon that witnessed the interaction of the four human civilizations. Richthofen, the famous geologist, geographer, founder of the modern physiognomy, orientalist and traveler, first named the trade route that wound its way from China through the Central Asian countries to the Greeks and Romans. In the early 1990s, thanks to the Chinese and Central Asian governments, the railway winding from Lianyungang city via the Central Asian countries to Rotterdam of Netherlands was first through, symbolizing the construction of the new Euro-Asian Continental Bridge.
